Elliot-6 months old

The boys had a well-check yesterday; Elliot, 6 months, and Owen, 3 year. It was convenient to accomplish both appointments in one visit. But there is nothing I hate more than taking my healthy children into a doctor's office FULL of sick children in the middle of winter. I have never seen it so busy! When we walked into the exam room the smell of vomit was ever present. The nurse quickly explained that a child had vomited in this very room but that she had sanitized everything afterward, including the basket of toys that Owen had been looking forward to playing with. I thought to myself, "The minute we get home I am changing my kids' clothes and dunking them in the bath!" (Because there is nothing worse than a stomach bug!)
I am so grateful that I have healthy kids. And I am not just talking about cough-free, snot-free, vomit-free, ear infection-free (because they are all those things right now, yay!). I am thankful they don't have any serious medical problems.
He is always playing with his tongue!

I love the stringy drool... so funny!

Here are some fun facts about Elliot:
-He is 18 lb., 6 oz, and 27 1/2 inches long--he has more than doubled his birth weight (8 lb., 2.6 oz.)!
-He has 2 bottom teeth that finally cut through the gums on our flight home from Salt Lake a few weeks ago.
-After a very long 6 months of getting up every night, he is finally sleeping through the night! That right there deserves its own blog post!
Sleeping baby=happy mama! A beautiful equation!
-He eats baby food 2 to 3 times a day. He eats a lot at dinner time.
-He can sit up on his own without any assistance for about 3 minutes; that time is lengthening each day.
-He idolizes Owen! He watches him very closely. When he sits on my lap he kicks his legs and rocks himself back and forth--I can just tell he wants to take off and follow Owen!
-He is a little shy. He makes eye contact with me, smiles big, and looks away really fast. Then he looks back and smiles again.
-He smiles and laughs very easily. He is very ticklish, a trait I have noticed with him since last October.
-I thought I had him going on the binky last month but he really doesn't like it. He can put it in his mouth and I usually have one in the crib for him but he doesn't suck on it.
-He drinks one 8 oz. bottle of formula before bed each night and that is the only formula he gets. I am planning to wean him at 11 months.
-Nicknames: Goobers, Gooby, Bubby, Bubbies

I think he looks a lot like you. He is so adorable and what's the secret to having him sleep most the night? Is it the formula? I will do anything with this next week. I was insane with Brody because he didn't sleep well until he was 1 year old. Secrets please!

We are lucky that our pediatrician office has separate rooms for well visits and sick visits. Hope your gang stays healthy.
